Tyl's birthplace was originally called "The Golden Comb House" and used to stand in former Čáslavská, today's Tylova street. It was built on Gothic foundations in 1823, after a great fire of the town that destroyed large part of the quarter. On the front wall there is a relief of J.K.Tyl installed commemorating that Tyl, writer, dramatist and author of words of the Czech national anthem, was born here on February 4, 1808. Inside the house an exposition dedicated to the life of this outstanding figure of the Czech National Revival is placed.
