The Paths of Science, the Boundaries of Faith – 400 Years Since the Jesuits Arrived in Kutná Hora

The Baroque world, situated on the border between miracle and knowledge, faith and science, is revealed in an exhibition that connects the regional activities of the Jesuit order with the broader European and global context. It presents the Jesuits as missionaries, educators, scientists, and creators of Baroque culture. Authentic exhibits and interactive elements bring visitors closer to the atmosphere of the early modern period. On display are items from the 17th and 18th centuries – from works of art and rare prints to exotic objects from foreign missions, such as an Indian headdress or a necklace made of monkey teeth.
